Now for this week’s power rankings:

1.  Fett’s Army (8-1, #1 Wookiee Division): Stellar depth coming through in bye weeks; this team has no superstars, but a whole lot of solid production.  If Peyton Manning and Antonio Gates return to form, this team might not lose again – unless the owner gets a little too Jerry Jones-esque.  Reason for optimism: RB Tim Hightower’s ascent in Arizona.

2.  Circle the Wagons (6-3, #2 Hutt Division): Coming off a tough loss to Fett’s Army.  Marshawn Lynch and Frank Gore have slowed down, but this team still has a lot of talent.  Team is a bit of a health risk, though.  Reason for optimism: Plaxico Burress is keeping his mouth shut; perhaps soon he’ll start producing.

3.  The Billy Joe Hoberts (4-5, #3 Hutt Division): The highest scoring team in RPL, TBJH’s luck is starting to turn around.  Winners of two straight, this team is getting hot at the right time.  It remains to be seen, however, how the Willis McGahee situation will effect this team.  Reason for optimism: Adrian Peterson can’t be stopped.

4.  Poz’s Luszny’s (6-3, #1 Hutt Division): One of the most consistent teams in the league.  Outstanding depth at RB helps, but poor QB play may catch up with them soon.  Reason for optimism: having five starting running backs (Chris Johnson, Michael Turner, Steve Slaton, Reggie Bush, LenDale White) on the roster.

5.  labill (5-4, #2 Wookiee Division): Holding on by the skin of their teeth.  Phil Rivers will need to carry the load as the team struggles with the benching of Edgerrin James and the upcoming suspension of Larry Johnson.  Still, there are players on this team.  Reason for optimism: Steven Jackson should return to the field soon.

6.  SPD’s Dynamos (4-5, #3 Wookiee Division): This is a very strong team that has suffered from some bad luck.  Kurt Warner and Brian Westbrook are keeping the team afloat while bye weeks and untimely disappearances hurt their record.  Reason for optimism: Westbrook is healthy and the worst of the bye weeks is behind them.

7.  Kurupt’s Sweet Cream Style Corn (4-5, #4 Wookiee Division): Scraping together respectability with the likes of Thomas Jones, Brandon Marshall and Titans specialists at the forefront.  After a slow start, the defending champ could sneak into the playoffs.  Reason for optimism: Aaron Rodgers looks like the real deal.

8.  UntouchaBILL (3-6, #5 Wookiee Division): Mathematically eliminated from contention in the Wookiee Division, these guys are still a player for a playoff spot.  LaDainian Tomlinson has screwed them all season, but Clinton Portis has picked up some slack.  Reason for optimism: Matt Ryan faces some cake defenses in coming weeks.

9.  The Sith Lords (2-7, #5 Hutt Division): These guys have been kings of the waiver wire this season.  Two consistent performers – Matt Forte and Larry Fitzgerald – haven’t stopped this team from quickly sliding into mediocrity.  Reason for optimism: fantasy football will be played in 2009.

10.  If only we had a competent owner (3-6, #4 Hutt Division): Despite not making a single lineup change all season, Ron started 3-3.  Thankfully – mercifully – his luck has run out.  With no lineup changes in sight, this team appears to be a league doormat.  Reason for optimism: Tony Romo, a starter for this team the past three weeks, should return to Dallas’ lineup November 16.

Congrats are also in order to Team America (7-2, RL2) and Team Mule (7-2, RL3) for being league leaders in their respective leagues.

Without further ado, here’s how the 10 teams rank in the Rumblings Premiere League after six weeks of action:

1.  Fett’s Army (5-1): The resurgence of Peyton Manning only bodes well for this team’s future.
2.  Circle the Wagons (4-2): jri111’s crew is second in the Hutt division, but also a scoring juggernaut.
3.  The Billy Joe Hoberts (2-4): Bad luck usually ends for teams that score as much as the BJH’s.  Just watch.
4.  Poz’s Luszny’s (4-2): Off to a good start, but a lot of big names (TO, Moss, C. Palmer) are sliding.
5.  If only we had a competent owner (3-3): If you lost to the guy (Ron!) who hasn’t changed his lineup ever, shame on you.
6.  SPD’s Dynamos (3-3): Brian Westbrook’s broken ribs are going to hurt more than just Westbrook.
7.  labill (3-3): Keeps squeaking by, thanks largely to his dynamic QB duo of Cutler and Rivers.
8.  The Sith Lords (2-4): Have had to scramble a bit, but the Wildcat and Matt Forte keep them competitive.
9.  Kurupt’s Sweet Cream Style Corn (2-4): How does a defending champion pick so many busts?
10.  UntouchaBILL (2-4): Got lucky against Fett’s Army.  Boba was busy hunting down Han Solo.

Congratulations are also in order to Team America (RL2) and Team Mule (RL3) for their respective 5-1 starts.  My team is still better than both of those ones, however.

And yes… I, your commissioner, am quite unsurprisingly one of those teams.  Was there ever any doubt?
