Music City Miracles Fantasy League

Tis The Season

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008 | Tennessee

Everybody talks about the Christmas season, but that is not the most exciting part about December.  The most exciting part of this time of the year is the fantasy football playoffs.  This is where all of the hard work and preparation that we did in August really pays off.  It is win or go home, and you throw the performance of the regular season out the window.  Good luck to everyone.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008 | Tennessee

I want to start off by wishing everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving.  Here’s to hoping you get lots of good food and good times with family and friends.

My advice for the week is to start Chris Johnson and LenDale White if you have them.  The Titans have erred from their first love of running the ball for a few weeks, and there is no better time to get back to smash mouth football than on Thanksgiving in Detroit.  The Titans face 3 teams with bad run defenses in the next 3 weeks so get ready for Smash and Dash to put up some good points against those teams.

Bench Brett Favre This Week

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008 | Tennessee

You can call me a homer if you want, but don’t say I didn’t tell you to not play Brett Favre this week on your fantasy team.  Favre loves to sling the ball around, even when it is ill-advised, and the Titans should be able to force him into some mistakes.  The Titans secondary is full of ballhawks, and they should have some good opportunitites to take the ball away from the Jets’ receivers.

Tennessee Titans Defense is Your #1 Defense Sunday

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 | Tennessee

The Titans defense, which is allowing the fewest points in the league, is facing a Chicago Bears offense this Sunday led by Rex Grossman.  I am not sure how much you have followed Grossman’s career, but he loves to throw the ball to the other team.  The Titans are very good at forcing turnovers so look for some big points this weekend from the D.

Kyle Orton Time Again

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 | Tennessee

So, guess I was wrong about Tony Romo.

Kyle Orton could be the best quarterback play this weekend.  Orton, who the Bears put back there to do nothing more than manage the game, is actually having a great season.  He should put up some big numbers this week against the Lions.  In fact, if you have a member of the Bears offense, or the Bears defense for that matter, they are a great play in any league.

What Do You Want to Bet….

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008 | Tennessee

….that Tony Romo plays this week?  The Cowboys are in the midst of a meltdown, and Peter King’s boy Brett Favre called him and told him to suck it up.    Brad Johnson that he is old in a loss to the Rams.  The Cowboys are in arguably the toughest division in football and cannot afford another loss.

Romo will probably be a game time decision, but my money is on him playing.

Tip of the Week: If You Have Adrian Peterson..

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 | Tennessee

..put him in the game.  I know you are probably playing him anyway, but he might have the game of his life against the Detroit Lions this week.

Speaking of the Lions; How about my advice to play Kyle Orton?  It was gold, Jerry, gold.

Also, look for Santana Moss to have a big game this week for 2 reasons; 1. He will be facing the Rams defense.  They are bad.  2. He was shut out in last week’s game so he will be on a mission.  He might be the #1 receiver play of the week.

I’m Starting Kyle Orton This Week

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008 | Tennessee

I never thought I would say this, but I think Kyle Orton is a good start in fantasy leagues this week.  Obviously you aren’t going to start him over a stud, but if you have a QB that is on a bye this week, as I do with Brett Favre, Orton makes a lot of sense going against the terrible defense of the Detroit Lions.

Orton threw 3 TD passes against a good Philadelphia Eagles’ defense last week.  The sky is the limit.
