I am going to start doing a weekly update of the official MHR Fantasy Football League on Fleaflicker. After this initial post, I will move the segment to Thursday, as Tuesday is much too crowded for me and there is usually too much going on on the site on Tuesday for a lot of us to comprehend. We are usually experiencing the fallout from a big win or loss, and we already have some very good articles on regular Tuesday schedules- Love Hope Hero’s excellent Last Minute Heroics comes to mind.

Also, I’m not sure how to format this; if Styg or someone with similar expertise could help me with all the tables it would be much appreciated. I’m still deciding on what order I would like this in the best, so it will probably look a little sloppy for the first couple of weeks. And, finally, without further ado, on to Fantasy Football!

Albino Wildebeests 96, I CRUSH YOU! 65.2 Papi’s Wildebeests keep stampedin’ for a league-best 4th win, beating the lowly I CRUSH YOU by a resounding margin. The Wildebeests’ biggest player was the Vikings’ Defense, earning 22 points and making up for a rather boneheaded decision to start Brian Griese over Aaron Rodgers or Ben Roethlisberger at QB, which cost them nearly 27 points. The Wildebeests improve to 4-1, while I CRUSH YOU falls to 1-4. Coach Ratings: papigrande 71%, jezru 76%

SacTown Beavers 94, Qatar Wars 91.5 Qatar Wars came within a Ryan Longwell field goal of defeating the heavily favored SacTown Beavers in the Game of the Week. Zappa rode strong performances from Kurt Warner, Lee Evans, and Da Bears’ D in his third victory. Both teams had excellent coaching, as both players made nearly flawless personell decisions this week. The Beavers improve to 3-2, and Qatar Wars falls to 3-2. Coach Ratings: Zappa 92%, JR G 95%

TheSportsGuru’s team 81.85, j.f.k. mustangs 79.6 Guru wins in another nail-biter, defeating davecheffy’s mustangs in a game that could have playoff implications. Guru used srong showings from Steve Slaton and Matt Prater to eke out a win in this one. Guru’s Team improves to 3-2 while the mustangs fall to 3-2. Coach Ratings: TheSportsGuru 80%, davecheffy 77%

Toilers of the C++ 102.9, Brazil Devils 80.5 Styg rides high in this win, using a strong performance at nearly every position en route to a dominating win. The Brazil Devils fall in this non-division match despite Kyle Orton’s best efforts, in another game between two more than competent opponents. Toilers improve to 3-2, while the Devils fall to 2-3. Coach Ratings: Styg 85%, lucasfrodriguez 75%

Russ’ Team 82.15, Urban Expansion 80 Ejruiz sniffs victory for the first time this year, but fails to come through as he falls to Russ in yet another close game. Peyton Manning was huge for Russ, giving him a solid 21.15 points, most of it in the fourth quarter. Matt Forte and Andre Johnson were solid for Ejruiz, but failed to get him the win. Russ’ Team improves to 3-2, and Urban Expansion falls to 0-5. Coach Ratings: Russ33 100%, Ejruiz 93%

Blue Collar Broncos 93.15, The Fighting Manginos 80.8 The Manginos fail to capitalize on strong performances from Jake Delhomme and Reggie Bush, as the Blue Collar Broncos earn a solid team victory in a game that got them back in the hunt. The Manginos had been the highest-scoring team in the league up until this one. The Broncos improve to 2-3, and the Manginos fall to 3-2. Coach Ratings: Denver Native 88%, denverjhawk 98%

1 Albino Wildebeests, papigrande, 4-1. The Wildebeests continue to ride high in week 5 despite earning the Norvy. Next week: @ The Fighting Manginos

2 Toilers of the C++, Styg, 3-2. The league’s hottest team, Styg has piled up 3 straight wins and picked up a nice Name TBA Award for his trophy case. Next Week: @ Blue Collar Broncos

3 TheSportsGuru’s Team, TheSportsGuru, 3-2. Two straight wins earns them the third spot, as they boast the league’s hottest hand (Jay Cutler) and leg (Matt Prater.) Next week: SacTown Beavers

4 SacTown Beavers, Zappa, 3-2. In week 5 the Beavers pushed away the doubters (me) who said they were Paper Tigers with a late defensive stand against Qatar Wars. Next week: @ TheSportsGuru’s Team

5 Russ’ Team, Russ33, 3-2. Two straight wins thanks to some great coaching and a well-earned Shanny Award. Nicely done. Next week: @ Brazil Devils

6 j.f.k. mustangs, davecheffy, 3-2. They should rebound off a loss to Guru with Urban Expansion coming up. Next week: Urban Expansion

7 Blue Collar Broncos, Denver Native, 2-3. The Mainstream Fantasy Media was down on them, but they rebounded nicely with a win over the Manginos. Next week: Toilers of the C++

8 The Fighting Manginos, denverjhawk, 3-2. The Fat Men dropped a game to BCB, but are still strong playoff contenders. But it doesn’t get any easier. Next week: Albino Wildebeests

9 Qatar Wars: A Noob Hope, 3-2. Last week was a tough loss to Zappa. Let’s see how they rebound before they make any playoff promises. Next week: I CRUSH YOU!

10 Brazil Devils, lucasfrodriguez, 2-3. Too inconsistent to be a solid threat. Next week: Russ’ Team

11 I CRUSH YOU! No, you don’t. Jezru’s draft day woes have followed him into the regular season, and he has only one win to speak of. Still, if it weren’t for the technical difficulties… Next week: @ Qatar Wars
